Dominique Garrard

She/Her

Associate Lecturer

Dominique Garrard
How did you get your start in the Music Industry?

After I finished studying a Bachelor of Music at Monash. I began writing and collaborating with heaps of different people and bands. I was lucky enough to create a project called N.Y.C.K and we released our first single on Triple J Unearthed and it was picked up by all the major labels- Sony, Mushroom etc. This sparked my writing and recording career. We signed with Mushroom and we were lucky enough to tour, collaborate and record with incredible people in incredible places. I then created other projects such as Mutual Colour and joined an already established band, Zombeaches.

We have played some great gigs and written some awesome music that I am super proud of. Writing, recording and performing is what I love to do!

Are you working on anything at the moment?

Yep- always working on new music! Below are some links to my music and artist profiles.

Yes, we do have a Europe tour coming up and some interstate shows, also launches and just fun gigs! There may be a few albums dropping as well....

Mutual Colour

Zombeaches- NEW SINGLE- A TASTE OF OXYGEN

N.Y.C.K- Album coming soon

What's your favourite memory from being a part of the Music Industry?

Touring nationally and recording in different studios all over Melbourne!

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?

Always say YES. Try it out, it's scary, but it works, if you are willing to put yourself out there.

What is your favourite song?

At the moment it would be anything King Hannah, but mostly- "A Well-Made Woman"

Thanks for letting us learn a little bit more about you!

Check in next week to meet another BHI Faculty Member.
