Meet Follow the Robin: the first signing to TVR Records
An exciting new record label has been launched at Box Hill Institute (BHI), to help new and emerging musicians break into the music industry.
Under the name TVR Records, some high-performing students from BHI’s music course will have the opportunity to produce an album during their study. This will be done through one-on-one mentoring, and workshops, along with guidance from dedicated label manager, Georgina Fiske.
“Launching TVR Records is so exciting because we are creating a launching pad for our talented musicians to be introduced to the Australian music industry,” says Fiske.
“BHI is the only education provider in Australia with an in-house record label, and this really gives our students a head start in their careers”.
Fiske, who has previously launched emerging talents such as OH! Daisy, Brad Keeghan and Haters, brings industry experience and passion for music to their role. Their background includes working at several of Australia's most loved music festivals including Laneway, Meredith, Golden Plains, and participated in programs with industry bodies like the Australian Independent Record Labels Association and The Push.
To kickstart the label, TVR Records has signed its first artist, Melbourne Indie/Folk act, Follow the Robin, who was a finalist in the 2023 Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMA).
“Signing with TVR Records and recording in Box Hill Institute’s world-class studios is a fantastic experience. It’s a major step forward in my career and I’m excited to release my first single, LEXI, while I’m still studying,” said Follow the Robin.
LEXI, will be available on all streaming platforms through TVR Records on 16 August.
In addition to Follow the Robin, TVR Records has also signed another three exciting new artists, with plans to launch later this year.
